I am a highly-motivated young multimedia journalist with a keen eye for detail when writing often complex business news and features. I’ll graduate in May 2017 with a business journalism degree from Washington and Lee University. My coursework in journalism, business, economics and accounting uniquely situate me as a competitive candidate. I am an efficient writer who is well versed in all aspects of thorough news coverage, from earnings season to libel law. I am dedicated to illustrating the human side of everything. THE ROCKBRIDGE REPORT
September 2013-Present
Coordinate with reporters to assign stories, write scripts and edit packages as producer. Produced Election Night 2016. Create graphics, select and cut SOTs, VOs and packages; work with anchors and reporters to create Rockbridge County’s only weekly news broadcast. Contribute to both broadcast and print/web versions of The Rockbridge Report as reporter, producer and anchor.

Summer 2016
First Word Oil, Americas – condensed breaking news, analysis and information for markets and investors. Wrote overnight market reports for Asian and Latin American readers; updated WTI and Brent crude oil futures market stories daily; covered earnings for multiple publicly traded companies; reported on investment trends for Millennials; published over 160 stories total including multimedia and interactive charts to be paired with broadcast work.
NBC WASHINGTON
Summer 2015
Interned with the digital team at NBC Washington, an owned and operated NBC station serving a top ten market. Reported on and wrote over 60 original stories, two of which were chosen by NBC News national to be distributed to all markets. Developed social media plans for large events, including Independence Day in the nation’s capital.

Spring 2015
Worked alongside Former Senator Richard Lugar (R-IN) to further his goals of global food security, weapons of mass destruction nonproliferation, bipartisan governance and more. Developed and implemented an improved social media plan including video interviews, Twitter updates and Lugar Center website enhancements.

Managing Editor 2016. Formerly news reporter. Approximately 25 articles published as news writer; participated in ongoing investigative series, “Questioning Honor." Oversee distribution and external communications as managing editor, develop series ideas and report on issues affecting the campus at large.
